: Thanksgiving dinner can be so heavy so you need something moderate to light in alcohol, with high acidity to balance all that richness, plus a touch of sweetness to go with the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce. Riesling is frequently bright with acidity and depending on the region low on alcohol side. Best know for aromas of green apple, lime, peach, grapefruit, honeysuckle, mineral, slate, floral notes and just a nice crisp refreshing palate to go with any Thanksgiving dinner.

Oregon wines for hot summer days

Well summer is just around the corner and the hot days are rolling in.
Now it's time to start thinking about what to drink on those hot days to
cool you down. So today I have picked three wines that should help you
get through this years summer heat wave.

First off will be two wines from the King Estate Winery. Their Acrobat 2008
Pinot Gris and their 2008 Pinot Noir, but first a little about King Estate winery.

Monte Degli Angeli - Pinot Noir

As the last remaining summer days come to an end I was
looking for a very nice lite full bodied red.Thats what I got
with Monte Degli Angeli's Pinot Noir. This Pinot Noir is a
2007 vintage and comes from the area of Monferrato in
the piedmonte region of Italy. Aged for six months in oak,
has a very nice ruby red color. A fresh fruit flavor gives the
wine a very nice taste of elegance, with a very nice
lingering silky feel and vanilla after taste on the plate.
